Held in Las Vegas's Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Interbike is the largest bike conference in the US. I was fortunate this year to partner with MonkeyLectric, a Berkeley based bike lighting company, in working their booth so that I could get to the conference and scope out the latest and greatest bike tech. The outcome was crazy fun times with the MonkeyLectric team and a super productive trip for Modeo.

As bikers, we chase incremental safety improvements by covering ourselves with hi-viz, slathering ourselves in glow paint, decorate ourselves with christmas lights, even emitting radiation from our perfectly sculpted asses for magic cars to see. But with only incremental, and often tenuous, links to improved safety.

The bottom line is that our infrastructure is unsafe. So the best way to maximize safety is to bike on only the safest available infrastructure.
